Board of Education

The Fort Payne City Board is comprised of five members appointed by the Fort Payne City Council.  Board members serve five-year terms on a staggered basis. 
 
The Fort Payne City Board sets policies and rules that govern the administration of the system.  The Board operates according to Alabama law and Alabama Department of Education regulations. The Board sets policy only when members meet in official session.  The Board appoints the system's Superintendent, who administers the daily operations of the school system.

Date of Monthly Meeting

The Fort Payne City Board of Education will meet the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 PM in the Conference Room of the Central Office.
