Meet the Superintendent of Education
Brian Jett graduated from college in 1996 with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education with a Social Science Composite from Jacksonville State University. He went on to complete his Master’s and Educational Specialist’s Degree in Educational Administration also from Jacksonville State University. Brian has been given the opportunity to serve as an administrator at all levels of our school system. During his time in the classroom, he taught Government/Economics, Alabama History and United States History. Brian has served as principal at Williams Avenue Elementary School and Fort Payne High School. At Williams Avenue he was able to cultivate two major Initiatives, The Alabama Reading Initiative and the Alabama Math and Science Initiative. Throughout this time, he has built positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow educators. In 2017, Brian Jett was selected as Principal of the Year by local newspaper, Times Journal.
In January, 2010 Brian became Principal at Fort Payne High School. The primary goal was providing students with multiple opportunities to be College and Career Ready through Career and Technical Electives/Pathways. Aside from the multitude of choices at the local county technical school, Fort Payne High School is proud to be able to offer around a dozen Career and Technical Pathways to students on our own campus. Along with these opportunities, Northeast Alabama Community College allows students the opportunity to take classes that might not be offered in the traditional setting. ACCESS classes also allow the student to have more flexibility within their schedule.
Brian is married to Brandi Jett. They have two daughters, Allie Lane Jett and Ava Kate Jett. Allie is currently attending the University of Alabama and Majoring in Communication Disorders, Speech Pathology. Ava will enter the sixth grade at Fort Payne Middle School. Brian is very honored and proud to represent Fort Payne City Schools as Superintendent.
