*Congratulations to Mrs. Vezertzis and Ms. Hazell-the winners of our Gingerbread Competition! These ladies won both the popular vote and the voting that took place at “Christmas at the Park”. Second place in the “Christmas at the Park” voting was a tie between Drama and the Skills USA. Second place vote was the Sport Medicine Team. Great job by all participating teams. If you would like to see all of the entries actually check your email.
*Students, make sure you are checking your grades and attendance in INOW so you can take are of any unexcused absences or missing assignments.
*This Friday, let’s show a little holiday spirit by wearing our favorite Christmas sweater—ugly, tacky, cute.
*Student Council will also host the Reindeer Games during 4th block Friday. Each class will have a team and we even have a teacher team ready to compete. Sign-ups to join your class team will be held at the beginning of 2nd block tomorrow, Wednesday. The first five boys and first give girls to sign up will compete. Students will an activity pass get into the Reindeer Games for FREE. For everyone else, admission is $1.
*Attention Key Club Members-Mrs. Barnes needs every available member to be at the Santa Dash Thursday at 5:30 pm. Wear your festive Christmas gear and be ready to run/job or walk a mile to help kick off the Christmas Parade! Earn 3 hours for thirty minutes of you time! See Mrs. Barnes for more details today! Also, check google class for the hour sheet to make sure you are on track to earn your 20 hours!
*Seniors, the Alabama Association of School Office Personnel Scholarship applications are in the Guidance Office for any student planning to pursue a degree in business or K-12 Education. Please stop by for the list of requirement and an application.
*ACT this Saturday, December 14th. Please be here by 7:45am with your admission ticket, photo ID, pencils and calculator.
*Students will be participating in the Hour of Code during 4th block this week. Teachers and students will receive an email with more information.
*The digital citizenship post-test must be completed by today. Students, you have the link to the test in an email from Mrs. Turner. This will be a grade in you 4th block class.
*FCA will now meet the first Friday of each month. This Friday in room 101 at 7:20 AM. Everyone is welcome!
*9 Weeks Test Schedule-Thursday, December 19th – English/language, History, and all A block classes. Friday, December 20th – Math, Science, and all B block classes.
*The FPHS Holiday Food Drive kicked off on Dec. 4th-18th. Last year we collected over 4000 non-perishable items. This year, let us aim for 5000! Students, ask your teachers and club sponsors about bonus points.
*Seniors-you should have gotten several emails already about the required Civics test and the study materials to go with it. If you have government/economics class right now, that test will be very soon for you, so get ready.
*Last day for Seniors to pay for Cap and Gown is before Christmas break. Cost is $75.
*Reminder to all students, once you are on campus you are not allowed to sit in your vehicle in the mornings. You must enter the school buildings. Also after the 2nd bell in the afternoon, students must leave campus, you are not allowed to hangout on school grounds.
*All attendance notes need to be turned into the office first thing in the mornings.
*Students, please tell your parents you are not allowed to be dropped off in the bus loop in the mornings.
*FPHS Prom will be Saturday, April 4th from 6-10 pm at the Canyon Center. Prom tickets are now on sale with Mrs. Maxwell for $55.
*If you have been absent, you must bring your note to the front office. Check out notes must be turned into the front office by 9:30am.
*TA’s must sign in at the library before reporting to your teacher so you are not marked absent.
*Yearbooks are on Sale: 2019-2020 Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $40 before Christmas Break. $50 after December 31, 2019. $25 deposit will reserve a book. No extra books will be ordered. If you do not pre-order a yearbook you will not be able to buy one at a later date. Continue following the steps on the website to place your online order. If you prefer to pay via check, please make all checks payable to FPHS yearbook and bring to Mrs. Freeman in room 302. Payment Plan Options (before Christmas Break): Payment 1-(Deposit) $20 - Due by: Nov. 15th. Payment 2 - $20 - Due by: Dec. 13th.
