Monday, November 7th 2022
*We have midterms coming up this week. All students need to look at PowerSchool and make sure you are taking care of those grades and making up missing assignments. If you need help with a plan to get back on track, go see Mrs. Bible in the library today.
*HOSA is giving away three gift cards to Wing Stop, Chick-fil-A, and Zaxby's. To enter, bring two coloring books to Mrs. Wilson's room, room 310, by the end of the day Thursday! These are for Operation Christmas Child.
*Congratulations to the Boys and Girls XC teams for their performance at the State Cross Country meet Saturday. The Girls placed 6th in Class 6A. Top finishers for the girls were Anahi Barboza, Kyndal Hughes, Abigail Vega, Arianna Ignacio and Madison Wright. The Boys placed 10th in Class 6A. Lane Pilotte, Samuel Moses, Tyler Anthony, Pablo Rodriguez, Ian Norman were the top finishers for the boys. Great job to all the runners on a great season.
*No School on Friday, Nov. 11th, Veterans Day Holiday.
*Congratulations to FPHS Drama on their competition at the District Level this past weekend at Snead State. The following students scored “Superior” in their categories, and will be representing FPHS at State Competition in Troy on Dec. 2nd and 3rd. Kiera Witham, Madison Tucker, Karen Hernandez Vazquez, Ellie Shugart, Ali Keith, Liva Whitmire, Riley Naylor, Emma Campbell Crawford, Lizzi Kate Black. Braeden McWhirter, Savannah Shoemaker, Angelina Jose, Heidi Mendoza, Marife Richardson, Haley Hamilton, Cecila Gifford. This is the largest number of individuals FPHS has ever sent to State competition. The One Act play “Victor” won “Best Costuming” and “Best Technical Performance”. Gabe Hardinger won “All Star Cast” for his role as the Creature. Savannah Shoemaker won “Best Lead Performance” for her role as Dr. Victor Frankenstein. Once again great job and lets represent FPHS well at State Competition!
*Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, check your email and Google classroom for information on RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program at the US Space and Rocket center. This is a wonderful leadership opportunity. Applications are due before we leave for Christmas break.
*Calendar Girl Pageant is on Nov. 12th.
*Veterans Day Program is on Wed. Nov. 9th 9:00am in the FPHS Gym. Please wear Red, White or Blue attire. The buses will not run for Tech School or Williams Avenue on this day, for students to attend the program.
*Fort Payne High School will host a FAFSA help event in the evening on Thursday, Nov. 17th in the library from 4:30pm until 6:30pm. Northeast will also be here to help students and parents in the process of filing your application for Financial Aid. Seniors, please make sure to let your parents know about this opportunity.
*Toys for Tots program has started and we ask to bring in unwrapped toys. There are boxes in the 1st and 2nd building lobbies and in the office. Ask your teachers for bonus point opportunities for toys you bring in. We hope you will all participate.
*Students who are interested in participating in the technology competitions this year need to see Ms. McClain about joining the FPHS Tech Team today. Registration for regional competition is soon!

*Students, just a reminder, please avoid putting any objects on your Chromebook keyboard. Pencils, erasers, even paper clips can crack your screen.
*Reminder to all TA’s, you must sign in with Mrs. Fischer, in the library, everyday or you will be marked absent.
*If you have Chromebook problems, do not come to the library. You must fill out a Happy Fox trouble ticket, or get someone else to fill one out for you. Please be patient as we try to resolve everyone’s technical problems.
*Students, reminder, we do not accept deliveries with Door dash or Grub hub, no food deliveries to students.
*Reminder Students, you must come to the office to check in or check out. If you are late, you must check into the office, Do not just go to class. Also, Do not leave campus without signing out in the office, if you have a parent note to check out.
*All attendance notes need to be turned in to the office first thing in the morning. If you have been absent, you must bring your note to the front office or email notes to Mrs. Vezertzis at kvezertzis@fpcsk12.com Check out notes must be turned into the front office by 8:30am.
