Video of the record breaking kick
Congratulations to FPHS Kicker Alex McPherson who now holds the state record for longest FG from scrimmage of 61 yards. Alex comes from a long line of brothers who have kicked for FPHS for 12 continuous seasons. Logan McPherson started the run and finished with a high school best of 57 yard FG against Boaz, Evan picked up the tradition after Logan and finished with a Alabama high school record 60 yard FG (snap/hold). Logan and Evan both continued kicking in college at Louisiana Tech and Florida respectively. Evan continues his career as the starting kicker for the Cincinnati Bengals after being the first kicker chosen in the 2021 NFL draft. Alex has committed to Auburn University.
